The Altar Server assists the clergy during Mass. Training is provided for all interested in serving — must be at least 10 years of age and have received First Communion. The ministry of altar server in the Catholic Church is very unique. Other than the priest and deacons, no one else has the opportunity to participate so closely in the preparation of the Eucharist. Servers must be at least 10 years of age and have received First Communion. Training is provided at sessions throughout the year.
