Solemnity of All Saints Sunday Masses on November 1, 2020 The celebration of this ancient feast is a treasured tradition of the Church, and usually we are obligated to attend Mass. This day is most assuredly held in high esteem as a day of remembering the holy men and women with whom the church proclaims to have attained eternal glory, and when it falls on Sunday, the Solemnity is celebrated.
“These saints are more than just role models; they are family members with whom we continue to share relation, in a bond of prayer, called the Communion of Saints." Loyola Press
Commemoration of The Faithful Departed (All Souls) Daily Masses on Monday, November 2, at 8:15am & 12:10pm You are invited to place the names of your deceased family members and friends in our Book of Remembrance of the Dead which will be placed in the church throughout the month of November. Every member of the church is encouraged to pray for the dead and to console their brothers and sisters who mourn the loss of their loved ones.
“May they enjoy eternal light and peace and be raised up in glory with all your saints.”
On the day of All Souls, we pray for the souls of all the faithful departed. We believe that we continue to share a relationship with those who have died, and we pray for those whose souls are journeying through purification and being prepared for eternal life in heaven. Our prayers for them will help to speed their journey to eternal life with God in heaven. In His death and Resurrection, Jesus has conquered death once and for all. In the Communion of the Saints, we continue to share a relationship with all those who have died and with saints in heaven who intercede for us before God.
